Clear Aligners

People who seek straighter teeth to reach their smile goals do not necessarily need to wear braces. In many cases, clear aligners can be used to achieve the same effect.

At Creekside Family Dental, we offer ClearCorrect clear aligners to our patients who desire them.

What Are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are fitted removable pieces that you place over your teeth in a similar way to a mouthguard or retainer. The purpose is to slowly move the teeth as an alternative to traditional braces. Aligners gradually straighten teeth and are used to fix problems like crooked teeth, misaligned teeth and small tooth gaps.

Our office uses clear aligners within our cosmetic dentistry services as a method to improve both the look and function of the teeth through one treatment method. Aligners help us move teeth to fit a patient’s smile goals. This process can also improve oral health through a better bite and its associated benefits.

These dental pieces also help a patient’s appearance during the straightening process, which is one of the main benefits. They are thin and transparent, so they are barely noticeable when a patient is wearing them. Unlike traditional braces which stand out and impact a person’s smile, clear aligners are easy to wear during school, work and everyday life without drawing attention.

Which Clear Aligners Does Your Office Use?

We offer our patients ClearCorrect clear aligners, which is an alternative to Invisalign and other brands. ClearCorrect provides a similar product with the same actions and benefits as other clear aligner brands.

ClearCorrect was created by a dentist and has become a popular choice for dentists and patients around the world. This type of clear aligner is made from strong polyurethane that resists cracks and stains.

How Does the Clear Aligner Process Work?

We begin with a consultation to see if clear aligners could work for you and if you are a candidate. Braces may be recommended for some cases, in which case we refer you to an orthodontist. If we move forward with the aligner process, we begin by taking digital impressions of your mouth. These impressions inform the creation of your custom aligners.

You start wearing your first set of aligners, which puts subtle pressure on your teeth to encourage them to move in the desired direction. The shifting process is gradual and can be customized to your situation. You go through phases with new sets of aligners that you wear for a few weeks at a time, and each new set further shifts the teeth. You wear your aligners continuously and only take them out to eat and clean your teeth.

During the process, you continue to come to our office for visits. We take new digital impressions to inform each new set of aligners, and we fit the aligners to ensure they feel comfortable and are achieving the correct placement.

This process can last for one to two years, which tends to be faster than traditional braces. The length of time varies by your dental situation, and our dentist, Dr. Leffler, can give you more information specific to your case.
